myeducentre is an online informative and collaborative community whose objective is to help develop the right academic, professional and entrepreneurial skills in young Africans to better position the continent on the path of development. The greatest challenge that African countries may yet face on the path to sustainable economic and technological development is getting enough people with the right blend of skills and experience. For instance, in some African countries such as Nigeria, South Africa and Ghana etc, there has been strong competition amongst big employers for skilled people in the last few years due to rapid growth in certain sectors of the economy including banking, natural resources and telecommunications industries. Furthermore, one of the realities of living in a global marketplace is that businesses located in Africa are in direct competition with global & multinational enterprises for skilled resources. This competition will continue for some time to come and we may find it difficult to achieve sustained growth unless we do something today to ensure that we have the skilled people we need to build our tomorrow.
